I provide full medico-legal assessments and reports, and have been doing this work for more than 25 years. I accept referrals directly from solicitors and from intermediary agencies.
I assess adults (16 years old and above) with regard to personal injury claims, employment and criminal law cases, and have prepared reports for claimants, defendants and under joint instruction. DSM-IV and ICD-10 diagnostic criteria are used.
Prior to instruction I am happy to discuss potential referrals by telephone or email.
Typical referrals are accidents (road traffic, workplace, public places), medical negligence, assaults, abuse (emotional, physical and sexual). I assess and report on the psychological impact on the individual of the event in question, indicate a prognosis and make appropriate recommendations.
Typical referrals are stress in the workplace (harassment, bullying), health issues at work, discrimination (disability, racial, sexual). As with personal injury work, I assess and report on the psychological impact on the individual of the situation in question, indicate a prognosis and make appropriate recommendations.
I undertake reports for the court in criminal law proceedings where mental capacity or mental health issues are relevant, and provide opinions on such areas as cognitive ability, suggestibility, malingering and personality disorders.
I am usually able to see clients within a few weeks of referral, and to provide my report within two weeks of the assessment session. I can see clients at my consulting rooms in Central London or Harrow-on-the-Hill, or am able to travel nationwide to the referring solicitor’s premises or to the client’s home.
